downgrading from 11.31 to 11.23

Hi Gurus,

I wanted to downgrade my BL860c server running HPUX 11.31 to HPUX 11.23.

-Can it be safely done?

-Is there a link for installation files that I can use to downgrade?

-Is there another safe alternative?

Why? You must reinstall the whole OS and possibly the whole system. Do you have the 11.23 media?
(I'll ask the moderators to move this to HP-UX.)

It is impossible to downgrade -- there simply isn't a tool to accomplish this as there are typically 2,000 to 4,000 files in a standard HP-UX install. You must erase the current OS by installing 11.23. NOTE: Be sure you have 11.23 media with a version that supports the BL860c.

There is no such thing as downgrade in HP-UX

downgrade isn't possible, only upgrade with the update-ux.

I have the media for 11.23.

I had to install oracle version that did not support 11.31 so I wanted to downgrade OS.

I won't lose much by downgrading as system has not been used at all.

I will install 11.23 which will erase 11.31 and install 11.23.
