DST

Hi all. My systems are running NTP. We aren't going to have any problems with this new, earlier DST change are we?

TIA

Re: DST

Depends on your apps and environment. You need to search through the many posts that have been posted about this subject. There are discussions on the java, oracle, SAP, etc. Also links to HP site that provides details.

Instead of asking here, look into what has been posted and shared. There is too much info to post it all here in 1 thread.

Re: DST

NTP has nothing to do with DST -- so any problems that might be assicated with DST will not be caused by NTP. NTP always runs in UTC. Bear in mind, that you might have useers connected to your box from all over the planet -- each with a separate and distinct TZ --- and everything would be fine.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: DST

In short, even though you use NTP, your local /usr/lib/tztab should have rules to convert the time provided by NTP to the local time.

And that is just for the OS. For Java(and any other apps that have their own DST rule tables), you will need to update the DST rules separately.
