after shutdown and booting the client the dtlogin-"father"-process doesn't create a new "child" for it's client. As result we get no dtgreet-process for our client.
The only solution at the moment is to restart the dtlogin-"father"-process manually with "kill -HUP
How to start the "child"-process or restart the "father"-process automatically?
Thanks, Michael & Uwe

SolutionMaybe worth running dr_dt ?
To start manually : /sbin/init.d/dtlogin.rc start ?
NB If you have a large network / large number of remote dtlogins likely to be running Maker 100 % sure you have the latest CDE patch installed. Your problem sounds similar to an old cde problem at 10.20 where dtlogin parent process dies in such enviroments. It maybe something else though ! Maybe worth running CDE in debug mode ? see forum search utility for details or I can provide them if you can't find them

Re: dtlogin not starting after booting client
thank you for answering.
I could not find something interesting in Xerrors.
Only warnings to "usr/bin/X11/xset: bad font path element ..." "Incorrect font server...".Don't think that that belongs to our dtlogin-problem.
Try to install the patch for CDE now (or next week).
Bye Michael
