Hi All,
MY EMC project was given to another person due to Re-org's and the good-o-boy-network...
:(, so now we have two departments for this
project. I am suppose to be in charge of the
HP Servers for this Diaster Recovery and
Online fail over project. I have 5 servers
at the main site and 2 servers at the DR Site.
Yet another person "more qualified" than myself
is the EMC main person. I am not sure what
the boundaries should be. What access does
he need on the HP Servers?
My question to you folks...Are there any
HP Unix Admin's who have helped install
the EMC SDRF application?
If so, could you give me any heads up or
info that might help me??? Baby-sitting the
unix boxes is not keeping me busy and right
now job security is my concern.
Thanks,
Laurie

Re: EMC - SDRF Unix HP-UX Server's Oracle Database Servers
Hi Laurie,
I have not used EMC SRDF. Had read about that long time back but have forgotten most of it.
As far as access on hp servers is concerned, the person who is administering EMC will also need to have root access to the servers.
My idea would be that the person who is responsible for a system should be responsible for the data on that box no matter where it resides. with EMC this is sort of a gray area since the same pool of disks can be accessed by different servers being maintained by different people. So managing EMC should be a co-operative movement and not one person responsibility.
If you are looking for any manual on EMC, give your email address and we can send you any manual you want. specify if there is a quota limit on your mailbox.
Are you looking for something specific on SRDF or just general information.
Thanks
