Hi.....
I got a error log in syslog.log on my HP rp 2470 Server having OS HP-UX 11i. the error log and the Current Monitoring data are given below. It shows some error regarding the Fiber Channel adapter. i got this error earlier also in a frequency once in 4-5 months.
plsease help to sort out

What type of HBAs you have?
what type of Disk Array are you connected to and how?

What revision of EMS are you running?

Make sure you have the latest fibre channle patches.

this event happens when the reply from the storage device connected with FC is incorrect or if it is slow in performance.

check your storage device

I would suggest to use the logtool in STM (onlone diagnostic), It will show you how many times error where logged to this spesific interface and provide more information.

Its a HP Tachyon XL2
Fibre Channel Mass Storage Adapter. i am attaching the ioscan o/p.
We are using a HP FC Disk System 2405 through a FC Link.
How can I get the revision of EMS running in my system?
How can i get the details whether any FC patches are installed?
Storage device and HDDs didn't show any abnormality till now.

From the attached files, you have A.38.00 of the OnlineDiags. This was the March 2003 release, which is very out-of-date now. You should upgrade to the current version. Running STM will show you the full version string.

You should also have the latest FC patches installed. If you have a mismatch between the OnlineDiags and the FC drivers, you may get the wrong event reported.

As Andrew mentioned, make sure you patch for FC.

#swlist -l patch | grep -i fibre

then go to itrc patch database and search for fibre channel patches while specifying your HPUX revision.

When you first run STM you will see the revision in the welcome message.

Please find the attached out put of the commands
#swlist -l patch | grep -i fibre
and
#stm
please check the installed version of patch and suggest the required version to be upgraded for the version of my OS (hp-ux 11.11)
