EMS not able to change parameter in vt100 terminal.

Hi all,

I'm trying to configure EMS via a dialup connection.

When I add a resource to monitor or try to modify a resource that is monitored I can access I can't access the
Notify: [ When value is... ->] [ Not Equal ->]
drop boxes.

The tab goes direct from
Show Instance Description
to
Polling interval.

I can't find the files to modify directly either... or the syntax to change them to.


Every thing else is accessible.
I have PHSS_28843 installed...

monitor resource:
/storage/status/disks/default/0_0_1_1.0.0

I know this from various vt100 emulations like hyperterm etc.

I don't have such problems since I use putty.

thanks for the reply. I've used putty, windows communication accessory, hpterm from reflection and msoft telnet.
All are the exact same.

I checked this with putty on my 11.11 system and there is no problem.

But why not using

/etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig

you can add your monitoring request there.

You are actually able to change the Notify [ When value is .. ] drop box?
I can't even acccess it.
I've the latest ems software patches too.....
and have used putty 0.60..

Can you show me your putty config/and swlist -l product | grep -i ems ?

I'll try monconfig..
not quite sure how though..

I don't see any equivalence between EMS via sam and monconfig... all I want to do is modify the values in EMS already..:

Just to clarify, can you give a bit more detail about what you're running to do this? From what you've said, I think you're running SAM, and choosing the Resource Monitoring option, is that correct?

I suspect Torsten is looking at monconfig, which will not let you do what you want (and has a text based interface).

I think this is a problem with SAM, rather than EMS.

It took a while to really understand the problem and I cannot get this working too, sorry.
I checked this with 11.11 and 11.31 and the problem is the same.

IMHO it is related to
/opt/resmon/bin/emsui

but you can try

/opt/resmon/bin/emscli

if this helps you:

# /opt/resmon/bin/emscli -h

Usage:
emscli -l | -v | -r | -m | -a | -d | -g | -h
-l : List Requests
-v : View Request(s)
-r : List Resource Instances
-m : Modify Request
-a : Add Request
-d : Delete Request(s)
-g : Generate Script
