Can I use EMS to monitor applications processes and system processes ?
For example, I want to report events on all failed FTP attempts to my server, report events on process failures ...

						Hi,
1]
system refers /var/opt/resmon/log/event.log to send EMS alert.
2]Usually,it records Hardware related (ANY Device Failure)alerts/failure,AC,Over Temp.and send the EMS alert if any deviation in the defined script.
3]Surely You can have EMS alerts for failed FTP attempts but this is not recommded,as this kind of alerts comes under /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log file and u can make the script which will read this file and send u the alert if failed FTP attepts.
