You can't. When you get to 11.31 (11iv3) there is long username support, though.

Its is not possible in 11.11 but if it is very important in your enviornment then you can install 11.31.

There is no add in product to enable this feature in 11.11.

HP-UX 11.11 assiduously ignores any user id's and passwords that exceed 8 characters.

Though you can do this with HP-US 11.31, you may if you need compatibility with older systems not wish to implement the feature.
