Enforced reboots after support pack deployment

Hi All

can anyone point me to the configurable option to disable forced reboots on remote machines after HP support pack deployment. I find this action quite frustrating not to mention risky, but can't find instructions.

Re: Enforced reboots after support pack deployment

If you are talking about HP-UX patch bundles, then there isn't a way. The machine must be rebooted soon after the patch bundle is installed due to kernel patches being installed. Kernel patches require that the kernel be rebuilt and the machine be rebooted in order for them to take effect.

Re: Enforced reboots after support pack deployment

Agreed. The only time you should be installing the support bundles is when you can schedule a reboot.

Otherwise your system will be in an inconsistent state.
