Re: error in ignite Backup

Hi

Because, it's checking every device to see if it is a boot device on a PA system.

I would suggest you to install latest version of ignite and try...

Also, have a look on these threads

Re: error in ignite Backup

Yes you can savely upgrade the Ignite software, no reboot required.

Could you post the complete error ooutput from youur ignite command, and why are you using make_recovery? This is the old recovery command, you should use the make_tape_recovey command.

Re: error in ignite Backup

Hi,

Check print_manifest runs smoothly or not. Updating ignite dosnt harm your system. It dosnt require any reboot too.
Will it remain a personal, if I broadcast it here!

Re: error in ignite Backup

Not related to this problem, but why you have an unmirrored swap?

LV Name /dev/vg00/lvswap
LV Status available/syncd
LV Size (Mbytes) 8000
Current LE 250
Allocated PE 250
Used PV 1

If this disk fails, your system will most likely crash ...

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: error in ignite Backup

... and now related to problem:

You did a

make_recovery -v -A -d /dev/rmt/0m

but it should be

make_tape_recovery -v -A -a /dev/rmt/0mn

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
