Error on CDE display - Reflection X
Need some help, after i configured dns client ( using set_parms addl_netwrk ). I can't relogin back to the server via Reflection X software. The details error prompt up from the screen while accesing the server ;
The desktop messaging system could not started
To correct the problem
1 ) Choose [OK] to return to the login.
!2 ) Select failsafe session from the login screen's option menu and login
3 ) Check to see that the desktop is properly installed, the hostname is correct ( /etc/hosts ) and that the network is properly configured.
For additional information, see the CDE User Guide.
Info:
a ) Server Rp4440 - HPUX 11.11
b ) 4 Server - 2 Svr OK 2 Svr KO
c ) Is it any CDE file related to this matter that i need to modify ?
d ) Do try to disable the DNS Setting ( via /etc/resolv.conf )and relogin back,is OK no problem with the above msg.
Please help ... TQ

Re: Error on CDE display - Reflection X
Or you can enter the name and IP number in your /etc/hosts.
The problem I experienced using my server connected to the internet is that the CDE login screen will appear and after I entered the Id and password it will appear like it is loggin in and then it will return to the login screen without any errors.
To resolve my problem I entered the WAN IP address and the WAN name in the /etc/hosts. Since then I did not have any problems login with Exceed
I hope it helps.
