Error when using SAR command

executed the following command for cron
/usr/lib/sa/sa2 -s 12:00 -e 18:01 -i 300 -A

Which created /var/adm/sa/sar19, but nothing is being written to the file ? I was expecting
every 5mins. ( 300 sec ) for an update to happen.

Re: Error when using SAR command

Remember how cron works... Try running the command like this...

"nohup /usr/lib/sa/sa2 -s 12:00 -e 18:01 -i 300 -A" >>/dev/null

Re: Error when using SAR command

Hi Jerry,

You need to run the following steps at the first time you run that cronjob :

# mkdir /var/adm/sa
# /usr/lbin/sa/sadc /var/adm/sa/sa`date +%d`

Hope this information can help you.

Regards,
AW.
