Hello experts,
I have been trying to troubleshoot this problem since weeks. I still don't find the cause. Please help!
I am running BIND 9.2.0 (BIND-20 B.11.11.01.002) on HP-UX 11.11. The following messages keep on poping on my server console from time to time.

Dec 21 08.39:51 slx1 named [926]: client 192.168.1.96#3786: update ???cmt.mu/IN??? denied
Dec 23 08.33:39 slx1 named [926]: client 192.168.4.204#1664: update ???cmt.mu/IN??? denied
Dec 23 13.11:33 slx1 named [926]: client 192.168.5.112#1539: update ???cmt.mu/IN??? denied
Dec 24 08.20:58 slx1 named [926]: client 192.168.3.179#3038: update 3.168.192.in_addr.arpa/IN??? denied

Solution
Hi,
This error because of windows 2000 clients trying dynamic DNS updation to your DNS server.
TO Disable dynamic DNS update in the windows 2000 machines ( machines can be identified by ip addresses in the error message )
open the Network control panel, bring up the Properties box for the Local Area Connection, open the Properties for TCP/IP then go to Advanced/DNS and turn off the option "Register this connection's addresses in DNS".

You are right! It must be my W2K stations that are causing this "inconvenience"! I just verified the IP addresses displayed on the console. They are all W2K!
