fbackup error

I have HP H-60 with HP-UX 10.20.

fbackup is giving following error Intermittently, whether error is related to hardware or application.

Is the backup finishing succesfull ?
If so, what is intermittently, how often ?

I would call HP support and have them look up those error numbers for fbackup and see what they tell you.

Hi,

what is your patch level for fbackup ?

swlist -l fileset|grep -i fbackup

Possible solution installing patch PHCO_23861

To get all the error codes from fbackup:

dumpmsg /usr/lib/nls/C/fbackup.cat

Error 2004 is exactly as printed:

"reader 1: 1st read error"


Sounds like fbackup is having trouble reading the data.

Backup is completed but this error will occur 2 days back on 2/3 files, that files are not backup that day. But next day complete backup is 100% complete without any error.

Thats why I write Intermittently.
