fbackup/frecover probelms on zx6000
I'm having trouble with fbackup/frecover on a zx6000.
If I write to a disk file, everything is ok.
If I use a Super-DLT tape drive, the fbackup completes without any errors, but when I try
frecover I get the following problems ...
frecover -I /tmp/tape_list -f /dev/rmt/1m -v
frecover(2105): did not find expected file marker
frecover(5418): not an fbackup volume; unable to read volume header
frecover(2105): did not find expected file marker
frecover(5412): Do you wish to try to salvage this volume? (/^([nN]|[nN][oO])) y
frecover(5413): attempting to read backup following bad volume header
I get more or less the same result using SAM, but it gives a little more info about the volume header ...

Press to continue sam...
I'm fairly sure that the drive & tape are OK because I can use tar.
The system is running HP-UX 11.22 and has recently been patched as per everything identifed by the output from cpm_collect.sh.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

Re: fbackup/frecover probelms on zx6000
Hi,
If tar is working , that would seem to indicate no immediate HW issues. Its strange how the cmd line frecover doesnt see a header, but SAM does.
Do you have more than 1 tape drive connected?

Re: fbackup/frecover probelms on zx6000
There are two tape drives in the unit, but only one is connected to the SCSI bus and we've only installed device files for one drive.

Re: fbackup/frecover probelms on zx6000
seems that the problem goes away in HP-UX 11.23
