FC HBA A5158A Driver time out values Configuration.

As I understand, there are two Frame manager time-out values registers in Tachyon TL to configure ED_TOV, RT_TOV, LP_TOV and AL_Time. Are there any utility to modify these time out value for FC HBA A5158 in HPUX? or how to modify in HPUX?

Thanks in advance.

Your only possibility is /opt/fcms/bin/fcmsutil

See man fcmsutil
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

All you have is fcmsutil command. Check the man page.

Re: FC HBA A5158A Driver time out values Configuration.

Hi Richard,

I don't believe there are any commands or direct ways to manipulate these registers other than the API that HP supplies.
See the A5158A Release Notes:

http://www.docs.hp.com/cgi-bin/fsearch/framedisplay?top=/hpux/onlinedocs/J2635-90011/J2635-90011_top.html&con=/hpux/onlinedocs/J2635-90011/00/00/5-con.html&toc=/hpux/onlinedocs/J2635-90011/00/00/5-toc.html&searchterms=fcmsutil&queryid=20030718-092031

And here's a snippet out of the A5158A User's Guide:

A complete SNIA HBA API programmer's guide is available on the web at http://docs.hp.com and on the HP-UX Instant Information CD delivered with your HP-UX product updates. The title of this manual is HP FC SNIA HBA API Programmer's Guide , part number J2635-90015.

I also see in /opt/fcms/tools a Tachyon driver perl script named td.pl & I see the shared lib for that API in /opt/fcms/lib.

So it looks to me like you have to write your own commands to control these registers.

HTH,
Jeff

Thank you, guys. I just looked into the fcmsutil and find the write and read commands, Thus, I can modify these values in registers.

Thanks again for the quick reponse.
