File descriptor number not valid

N-Class running HPUX 11.0: User logs in and gets the following error message on login:

sh: Generated or received a file descriptor number that is not valid

I can't reproduce the error and the user 'thinks' it only appears on the first login using that account each day.

Anyone have any ideas?

Ctrl .profile of user.
