Files are not available/visible under NFS directory

[HP UX Admin]

We have strange problem that alternate disappearance of files under NFS directory in NFS client.

In my NFS client i am geting following error,

root@Jupiter:/program>du -sk arrived|fold
du: arrived/UBININBBXXX.DLMQODL100924O1311086000IA00P1/V1000: No such file or directory
441 arrived

Output after few seconds,
root@Jupiter:/program/arrived>ll
total 0
NFS client is not showing any error.

Can anybody help me in this?

Perhaps some psychic who knows what these
systems are and how NFS is configured on
them could help. For a start:

uname -a

> total 0

And what's really there?

Hi,

You saw some files under nfs mounted directory when files were really there. Some can delete the files from server where this directory exported, which results total 0. Check properly who is managing that directory...

please cross check first that files are present on the NFS Server (their original Source Directory), if yes then what is their ownership and permission?

Yeah, it looks like you are simultaneously running the du command on an nfs directory that has files being created and deleted randomly and perhaps rapidly.
