Re: filesystem not mounting

Hi,

there may be a writing error in /etc/fstab .
Please show us the content of this file!

BTW, what was the reason of the restart? Patch installation?

Re: filesystem not mounting

What are the options assigned in the /etc/fstab? Try removing the mount options in fstab and then run mount -a to force a mount...

or first run vxenable -a then run mount -a

If you dont want to do that, then do the following: In many cases largefiles are defined and not configured. Go ahead and manually mount it and then run:

#mount /path/to/lvol /mount/point/name

#fsadm -F vxfs /mount/point/name

Re: filesystem not mounting

Hi,

Maybe you have a problem with one of the following products :

o VERITAS Volume Manager B9116AA
o VERITAS Cluster Volume Manager B9117AA
o VERITAS Flashsnap/Fast Mirror Resync option B9118AA
o OnlineJFS (B3929CA and B3929DA)

==> For all of them : expiration date is June 2007 under certain circumstances !!!

Take a look at the attached documents.

Hope this will help

Re: filesystem not mounting

What mount options are you using?
Do you have the expired Symantec license issue?

Re: filesystem not mounting

Hi:

Based upon your mount options (datainlog, etc), your OnlineJFS license has expired.

This is a know issue with a cut-off of June 24, 2007 due to erroneously having a "demo" only license.

This document details the steps you need to follow. No reboot is necessary although you may need to acquire updated media:

Re: filesystem not mounting

You have to check the status of on line jfs with the following command

(root@hpx9:/)#vxlicrep

VERITAS License Manager vxlicrep utility version 3.00.007
Copyright (C) VERITAS Software Corp 2002. All Rights reserved.

Creating a report on all VERITAS products installed on this system

-----------------***********************-----------------

License Key = XXXX
Product Name = VERITAS File System
License Type = PERMANENT
Site License = YES

Features :=
HP_OnlineJFS = Enabled

if the result show something like that,
---------------------------->
License Type = DEMO
Demo End Date = Sun Jun 24 10:00:00 2007

you have to install a new version of online jfs and ask a new code word

Re: filesystem not mounting

The following thread explains why you're now having a problem. The Online JFS features in your mount options are what you're tripping over. You need to install a more recent version of Online JFS in order to have the permanent license.

Re: filesystem not mounting

Thanks to everyone that assisted me with responses to the thread I posted. The expiration dat for the OnlineJFS was indeed June 24, 2007. I contacted HP License Center and was given a License key. Currently no expiration date set. Thanks again.
