Flashing ON and OFF
I have installed Hp Ux 11 on the workstation Visualize C360.
The installation goes OK.
At the end of reboot ,no errors appears but the monitor start flashing on and off and never stop.
I have tried to change the settings of my graphic card: from 1280 x 1024 to 1024 x 768, but I have the same results.
The workstation is not connected to a network. Is a stand alone.
Any suggestion?

Re: Flashing ON and OFF
May be it does not support screen resolutions set. Connect to it. (through telnet if possible, else on serial port)
check setmon command. I hope you already have checked the monitor is supported.

Re: Flashing ON and OFF
Hello Luca,
It sounds like you are exceeding the sync range of the monitor. What is the workstation used for? Do you even need a local display?
If it's just something to learn HPUX on, you can run it headless with a serial console. You can even remove the video card entirely.
Unplug the keyboard and mouse and you can use the first serial port for the console.
I still use TeraTerm instead of HyperTerm to this day for console access on any Unix/Linux system.

Once you've got console working connect only the monitor. Then you can go into SAM, select the video card and cycle through the various settings.
SAM, Display, Monitor Configuration, Actions, Modify Monitor Type. Start at the lowest and work your way up.
Good luck,
Tom
