FRECOVER

hello there,
i used fbackup with a DLT 8000 tape drive to backup approx 32GB in 66mins, i also used frecover to restore, ths took me 9hrs, this is so slow, can anyone tellme wnat am doing wrong?...what commands do i need to use, i use this command:
#/usr/sbin/frecover -f /dev/rmt/1m -xov

is this ok?...does it take y'all the same 9hrs to recover? nee to speed things up would appreciate anyleads. thanks

fbackup is normally designed to backup quickly, not restore quickly. But you can increase the frecover time by using a config file with fbackup which writes checkpoint records frequently enough and uses a good blocksize, to allow frecover to seek files to restore much quicker. Here is the optimized config file we use, its seems the best balance between fbackup speed and frecover speed;

blocksperrecord 128
records 32
checkpointfreq 256
readerprocesses 4
maxretries 1
retrylimit 0
maxvoluses 1000

Put this in a config file, normally /var/adm/fbackupfiles/config and call it with the -c option from fbackup.
