FTP File transfer logging not working on HP-UX 10.20

I have a 'legacy' HP-UX 10.20 system that runs HP's ftpd daemon. The ftpaccess file exists and has the correct 'log transfer' line in it, yet the xferlog file is never written to. This version of ftpd has the ftpaccess file in /etc/ instead of /etc/ftpd and the xferlog is in /var/adm.

Does anyone know if there was a problem with logging ont working of HP-UX 10.20? The system is up to date with the last Quality PAk that was released for 10.20

Be sure you have enabled ftpd in inetd.conf with logging too:

ftp stream tcp nowait root /usr/lbin/ftpd ftpd -u 022 -a -L -i -o
