Re: FTP

does the process finish?
top
ps -ef | grep ftp

FTPD logs I guess would be on your ftp server (NT)

What is your script/process name?

What does it try to do?

Can you cut and paste the FTP bit?

netstat -an
to check active network sockets/ports.

Later,
Bill

It works for me (tm)

Re: FTP

I'm sorry.

The message in NT4.0 log is
"Delay expired after 900 sec"

But some times it's.

For example (my script) :
And search 'The problem is in this session'.

Thanks

Re: FTP

It means there is some delays in the network. Increase the max delay.

Thanks

Re: FTP

NT is prone to drop the network connections periodically for no good reason that anyone can see.

This being said, make sure it's not a network issue on the Unix side. Scan syslog and look for errors, if none are around, run

netfmt -t 40 -f /var/adm/nettl.LOG00|more

If there are no disconnects there, then it's an NT problem.

If the problems are in Unix, check the wiring and port on the switch.

If it's NT, good luck. The system will not log normal errors like dropping the LAN interfaces (which occurs periodically on every NT machine I have ever seen, some more common than others). You may get some success by re-installing your network interfaces and making sure that they are certified and compliant with microsloth standards.

Win2K also drops connections periodically for no known reason. This is most notable on a non microsloth host, and usually occurs when netbios is very busy with calls.
