GCC - Perl - Make

Dear all,
i ve the GCC , perl and make all depots files,
i wanna knw the right path to install it.
it is right to install it under
/usr/local
or
/
??

If you have a depot the default path built into the depot is the best place to install it. You may have to alter your PATH variable to make everything work right but I've never had to alter install paths in a decade of installations of many kinds of software.

Its always better to install in default path where the depot intend to go.. Because, while doing configure in build stage, --prefix will be used. If you have downloaded from software.hp.com, let it go to its desired place. HP-UX porting center depots will go to /usr/local anyhow.
