gigabit ethernet backbone
were thinking of replacing our FDDI ring with gigabit ethernet however in the serviceguard cluster there are 3 x K580 1 x V2250 and were getting an N later, im not sure if gigabit (fibre or copper) is supported in a K-class.
cheers
mark.

It specifies K-class, but doesn't seem to specify 580
one way or the other.

Re: gigabit ethernet backbone
Yes, the K-class supports GbE via the A4924A HSC NIC. Just a heads up for you, this card is fiber and supports multi-mode fiber. For some reason our network admin wanted to use single mode to connect us to our switch. As long as these boxes you are referring to have open HSC slots you should be good to go.

Re: gigabit ethernet backbone
With open HSC slot you can use A4924A HSC 1000base card.
Thanks.
