Glance global waits 20% in pipes Oracle

Hi,

We have been experiencing performance problems in oracle, after fixing disk bottle necks waits on IO have gone, now on the global wait states in glance, we have pipe around 20%-25% all the time.

This system is running 11.11 and oracle 9.

¿Is this normal?. ¿I think pipe buf size is 8ks and cannot be changed? , ¿something we can do to try and reduce this waits?

¿making all pipes stream based, can help with this problem?
