I want to upgrade from the trial versions of glance & mwa that are currently running on my systems. Am I correct to assume that if I stop all the mwa processes & the ttd daemon and then install the glanceplus pak from the applications CD, my mwa data will be retained. Do you I need to do anything else to ensure the mwa logfiles in /var/opt/perf/datafiles are not overwritten?
Thanks for any help.

SolutionIt's a good idea to stop all the mwa processes including scope/UX and copy the datafiles somewhere before installing the licensed version.
mwa status will show the processes running.
Take a copy of /var/opt/perf into some other directory in case if something happens.
Install the licensed version. It shouldn't overwrite the datafiles. But in case it did, you have a copy anyway.

Re: Glance/MWA - upgrade from trial version
upgrading wont overwrite any of your data files, all it will do is add the license key files.
Just ensure any processes with 'perf' in part of the name are stopped before you upgrade. You may have to kill off some after the mwa stop. If any are left running the upgrade will fail anyway.

Re: Glance/MWA - upgrade from trial version
It just updates your binaries if they need it and installs the keys.
I think it starts itself back up after the install.
Do a mwa status to check.

Re: Glance/MWA - upgrade from trial version
Stop the measureware before upgrade.
#/sbin/init.d/mwa stop
Do #ps -efa |grep "/opt/perf" to make sure all related daemons are down.
You might need to stop ttd and midaemon manually.
#ttd -k
#midaemon -T
Thanks.
Prashant.
