glance with both buffer cache and file cache on 11.31
I have a system that is installed with 11.31 that shows both filecache and 1 mb in buffer cache in glance.
Any ideas why it is showing buffer cache of 1 mb or so. On all of the other 11.31 systems I have this is always set to 0.
thanks for any pointers

Re: glance with both buffer cache and file cache on 11.31
Hi Emil,
In the mentioned document below page 11, its mentioned that
"Glance still shows a teensy bit for buffer cache but it├в s no longer a concern: instead
worry about the file cache."

I don't if that gives you the answer!
Regards
Sooraj

Re: glance with both buffer cache and file cache on 11.31
Unfortunately the tuneables bufpages and nbuf are not available in 11.31 (at least with 1003) so I am wondering why buffer cache still shows up

Because it is still used for some types of I/O. I think it was mentioned it is used for character I/O vs block.
