GlancePlus Alternative
Hi,
I am looking at finding an alternative the the HP GlancePlus product. I am just looking for a simple X11 display the show statistics like CPU/DISK/NET but with out all the extras that Glance has.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a product like this
Thanks in advance

Re: GlancePlus Alternative
Hi Greg:
'glance' is is a must-have tool in my opinion. You may want to start by ignoring the "extras" as you say, but I think the first time you have a performance issue or question, you'll find that drilling down into the various metrics with one tool is worth every penny you pay for its license. Remember that every screen and every metric has inbuilt help describing it.
Regards!

Re: GlancePlus Alternative
I totally aggree that Glance is a must have. But the system i am looking at putting it on is a not critical system and i can't justify the $6k AUD per system for a Glance Licence.

Re: GlancePlus Alternative
Hi,
Apart from X11 displays, have you considered HTML displays?
For HTML displays, you can look at MRTG which is free. I have been using that to remotely monitor CPU load, available memory, available swap, concurrent processes, concurrent established TCP/IP connections etc. Uses snmpget.
For more details on MRTG:

Hope this helps. Regards.
