Golden Image - Load software error
- one system administrator without Ignite experience;
- two L1000 with HP-UX 11.0;
- one is a Ignite Server (version B.2.6.358), with IP=172.16.2.17 (hostname=hxp17);
- the other (the client), with IP=172.16.2.15 (hostname=hxp15), has a 70 GB disk which I want to replace by an identical disk;
- this servers are located in the same network and only have a CDROM drive each;
I created a golden image on the Ignite server with "Add new client for recovery". Then I replaced the 70GB disk on the client and tried to recover the golden image archive into the new disk.
On the hxp15 console I executed with success "boot lan.172.16.2.17 install", getting the message stating that I could start the installation from hxp17. The network parameters show that the client got an IP from the DHCP server: 172.16.0.134
When I do a "Install Client/New Install" on the Ignite Server, the status is OK for:
- "Prepare Config.file";
- "Config.Disks";
- "Backup LVM";
But I get an error on "Load the software":
*Processing the archive source
/sbin/fs/nfs/mount -oro 172.16.2.17:/var/opt/ignite/recovery/archives/hxp15 /tmp/ign_configure/archive_nfs
Permission denied
ERROR: Cannot load recovery archive
The client only has "/" filesystem. I could "cd" to the indicated directories. But when manually executing the command got the same error. Also did this with exportfs in hxp17 set with "access=hxp15:172.16.0.134".
Thanks in advance for your help,
Andre'

Re: Golden Image - Load software error
Create Network recovery archive
You can bring up a client status window and look at the log file.

Re: Golden Image - Load software error
Looks to me, as if the ignite server is trying to mount the golden image as nfs on server with IP=172.16.2.17 whereas the one asigned by the DHCP server to your system is 172.16.0.134. Could this be the reason you are getting the permission denied message.
Also look at the thread below for a little help.

Hope this helps
