Graphical console on I2000 (IA64)

Hi there is new I2000 workstation with IA64 and hpux 11.20, how to enable there graphical console, just now it works only in text mode.
All hardware in ioscan is claimed.

not sure what you are asking but look at http://www.hp.com/workstations/products/itanium/i2000/faqs.html the current IA-64 offereing does not support graphics directly , the new offering available *later* this year will support them.

On 11.20 there is no way to get the graphics working on the console of i2000. The next release of HP-UX for IA64 should resolve this issue. See FAQ as well ..

On 11.20 there is no way to get CDE or any graphics working on the console
while running 11.20 HP-UX. Graphics will work when running Linux or Windows XP.


Since there is no graphics support available for the i2000 or rx4610 hardware,
it is not possible to configure CDE (Common Desktop Environment) on the
console. There is no patches that will fix this. The next release of HP-UX
for IA64 should resolve this issue.


Perform the following steps to access from an Exceed or Refections
session on another HP workstation:

1. Logout of CDE on the non-Itanium workstation.

2. Click on "options" and select "Command Line Login".

3. Login as root.

4. Issue the command:

X -terminate -query hostname_of_Itanium_system
