Re: Help on glance
Glance is a very friendly and easy tool
to use. If you dont have it on your
system, you can install a trial(free) version
from the application CD which comes along
with the HPUx O/S. After installation,
start it by running
#glance
If you have any doubts on the screen metrics, press "h" (for help) .
You can also run the GUI version of glance
#gpm -> it is every more friendlier to use.
Glance also has a man page (man glance)
which has details on its options.
Bottomline: the best way to learn it is
to use it. You can even run it as non-root
userid.

Re: Help on glance
If you have CDE, then you can use the graphical version of glance - gpm. There is a very good online help with gpm and it should be very helpful.
Also there is some documentation in /opt/perf/doc directory. The documents there will help you to some extent.
Also, look at /var/opt/perf/alarmdef file. It has some good information about thresholds and important metrics. All the metrics are listed in /var/opt/perf/reptall and the corresponding definitions are in gpm's online tutorial.

Re: Help on glance
for gpm, be sure and export your display as it is an X application
gpm is much easier to use since it has menus to go thru
do a man glance to get more info about using glance
