High CPU utilization in process tti or ttisr

When checking "top" I see high cpu utilization (about %35-%40) in process "tti" or "ttisr". In the past we've found it to be caused by a dumb terminal left logged in . By unplugging the terminal the process went down to a respectable .94%. What is the cause and what can I do to prevent this in the future? Is there a patch available? Bad MUX panel maybe?

Re: High CPU utilization in process tti or ttisr

Could be a hardware problem with the terminal or mux. In that case, fix or repair.

Patch database:
http://www1.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/mainPage.do

Search for mux tti ttisr

Read the notes carefully to see if the patches are relavent to your behavior.

I am an advocate of keeping up with quarterly patch releases as well. You might wish to run a path assessment:

11.11

Good idea to always state OS version and hardware platform in initial post. It is almost always relavent.
