Hostname "unknown" after patch bundle installation--Urgent

Hi All,

I need help in solving an issue. We are running hp-ux 11.11 in rp3440 hardware. After installing june2009 level patch bundle and reboot, the hostname changed into unknown and most of the services were not started. This is a secondary node running serviceguard A.11.16.00 version. Help me in solving this issue.

Check your /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file and see what the 'hostname' and/or 'nodename' lines look like. If they are incorrect, this could lead to problems.

Also make sure you do not have any backup copies of the netconf file in the /etc/rc.config.d directory. This can cause problems.

Hi, I checked the rc.config.d/ and I found some crap files was residing inside the dir. After removing and a restart server came up with no issues. Thanks for your time.
