How do I backup a 700 cluster server Root file system ?
Hi,
Could any one tell me how to backup a HP 700 cluster server.
My objective is that by restoring the backup on a freshly installed 700 system, it should be able to work as a cluster server.
It seems that normal fbackup and omnibackup doesn't preserve cdf information.
dd and copyutil is not helpful due to some i/o error
Any idea ?
Pramod

Re: How do I backup a 700 cluster server Root file system ?
Take a look at the Ignite/UX product. It is designed specifically to back up the root vg and then restore it. You can use the tape to restore to another system. The specific command within Ignite/UX that you want to look at is make_recovery.
The make_recovery command I use to backup my servers is:
make_recovery -A -i -d /dev/rmt/0mn
You can download Ignite/UX for free from HP at the following URL:
