How do I create USB mouse device files on 11.23?
Missing USB Mouse device files after new Install of 11.23/PA on C3000 workstation. CDE will not start becuase there are no device files for the mouse. There are device files for the USB keyboard. insf -e does not create them. The mouse is found and claimed in ioscan. How do I create the the USB mouse device files?

have a look at this thread:

It gives a few things to try.

Re: How do I create USB mouse device files on 11.23?
Thanks Peter,
After looking closer the mouse device files are installed but they are listed under the the device files for the keyboard. The H/W path for the keyboard is 10/0/14/2.1.2. The description is "USB HID Kbd(0) Mouse (1). There are /dev/hid/firstmouse, /dev/hid/mouse_000 ... mouse_007.
The H/W path for the mouse is 10/0/14/2.1.3 and its description is USB HID Mouse(2) with no device files. I have a generic 101 Key USB keyboard from Belkin.
Not sure why the keyboard is grabbing all of the mouse device files but removing them and recreating makes no difference.
