SolutionNow if you upgrade to 11.11, you can change from LVM to VxVM (Veritas Volume Manager) where this code is implemented. However, there will be a significant performance impact on your system when using RAID5 in software. The complexity of creating the stripes and parity records, then writing to as many as 5 disks at the same time, plus handling a disk replacement is best served in specialized hardware, not the operating system.

Summary
MirrorDisk/ux sw is only used to achieve upto 3 disk mirroring thats it nothing more? please conform

I prefer Redhat which is more neat and simple. I tried linux mandrake 8.1 which made my system vey slow also it has too much of unnecessary graphics. I want to be hard core sys admin. There is no point working in graphics i only prefer to do the professional way. If anything interesting u can write to me at santhosh@timken.com
