How Is HP-UX pronounced?

But HP-UX is pronounced HP You Ex

Hi Bill:

"HP-UNIX" or "HP-UX" works. The latter is the name returned from 'uname', however, and thus is what you will reference in scripts, stc.

The question here has always been "what does UNIX stand for?"

As I recall, back in the phone company days it was UNified Information eXchange.

Do I remember that right?

As an aside, I think it's funny how the marketing people have changed what RAID means to make easier for the money guys to digest.
