I am getting following msg when

ps -ef | grep sendmail

sendmail: rejecting connections on port 25: load average: 33

I am not able to send and recive mails pl. help

Hi,

There is a setting in your sendmail config that checks for the load average on the box. Here is a post that discusses this problem:

RefuseLA=33

Increase the value fro 33 to 50 . Save the file and restart the sendmail

Your system is running way too hot. You need to figure out why that's happening.

I am having the exact same problem and am trying to identify what is causing the high load. Mine will jump from a 1-2 load average to 30-35 and we dont know why.

I ran the script and attached the results.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just change the sendmail config as shown above and create your own thread if you need further help. Relying on the originator of this thread to guide it and assign points is not good itrc ettiquette.

Its important that you look at sar tools or top and see why your system is running hot. http://www.hpux.ws/system.perf.sh
