I am getting following msg when
ps -ef | grep sendmail
sendmail: rejecting connections on port 25: load average: 33
I am not able to send and recive mails pl. help

SolutionThere is a setting in your sendmail config that checks for the load average on the box. Here is a post that discusses this problem:

Edit sendmail.cf
There will a line like this
RefuseLA=33
Increase the value fro 33 to 50 . Save the file and restart the sendmail

Its important that you look at sar tools or top and see why your system is running hot. http://www.hpux.ws/system.perf.sh
