Hello Santhosh,

you'll have to configure your eXceed correclty, to use
- "XDMCP direct" or "XMDCP broadcast"
- use the "X11 Font-Server" (xfs) running on HP-UX

I do prefer to use "Single Window Mode", and "external Window Manager" (i.e. NOT MS Windows)

Wodisch has given the correct answer and it has nothing to do with HP-UX but rather with the Exceed setup. XMMCP Broadcast or XDMCP direct is also the required setting if using RefectionX.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Hi,

To setup exceed do this:

xconfig --> Communication
mode = XDMCP-query press configure
enter the IP address of the server
you want to start your CDE, press ok
xconfig --> Screen Definition
single window, press ok

Your now ready to start.
run the exceed executable.
This should attach to the host
if the appropriate processes are
running.

Re: How to access HP CDE from HummingBird Exceed or other Softwares

I have Exceed Version 7.1.0.1 and HP-UX 11.x and I keep getting the following error where the connection times out "sh: @: not found."
What does this mean? Do I have a problem with Exceed on Windows 2k SP4 or do I need to configure sometime on the Unix box?

Hi William,

it is better, if you open a fresh thread opn this. For one, it is possible, you get overlooked and second, yuo wont be able to reward points, when your problem is solved.
