How to check and display 256 colors?
Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle software. The Oracle installer checkes for a couple of system pre-requisites that must be available before software can be installed.
One of the pre-requisites is that display must at least be 256 colors.
I got this message during OS requirements check from Oracle installer.
checking monitor: must be configured to display at least 256 colors >>>>>>>>FAILED
Q) How to check & enable 256 color display?
Thanks

Re: How to check and display 256 colors?
Hi,
since you are not telling details, I can do a guess only:
- Oracle needs a X11-featured display: a console type supported installer has gone long time ago
- the command 'xdpyinfo' shows details about X11 display properties
