It depends IF you have access on the server or asking the question as an outsider of that server.

The general answer IMHO (if you're an outsider) - no fool proof way.

But servers on the DMZ usually have IP addresses that are never exposed to the outside world as there is almost always ikely a load balancer or some appliance that is between the server and the outside world.

You would have to talk to the networking folks to see where in your network it is.

A DMZ is more a product of network isolation rather than a specific server configuration. Although a server in a DMS should be locked down / hardened as much as possible, though this could be true of servers in a regular production network as well.

You can't just look at the server and tell. It will not be surrounded by razor wire, land mines and armed guards! ;)

Ask your network administrator.

Systems in DMZ have a local IP address and generally a firewall routes and filters traffic to them.

There is no way normally to tell other than knowing the network portion of the IP address has been configured as a DMZ
