But i do rad -q in the vpar, and a ioscan, and I can't see it.
Thanks,
Carmen.

Re: How to connect a DDS in a rp7410?
I will assume you already physically hooked it up.
1) Note that if you don't connect it to the correct kind of scsi card it will never work. Refer to the document for the dds tape drive for that.
2) Assuming you have it connected to the correct kind of card, the problem is usually scsi id. Do a full ioscan refer to the chart stamped on the drive and make sure the scsi id does not conflict with any other hardware.

3) Once you see it in ioscan recompile your kernel including the stape driver (sam)

Re: How to connect a DDS in a rp7410?
Have you check the driver in the kernel? Is stape already included? Can you attached your ioscan -fn result, and do you know on which scsi card your dds connected?

Sandy

Re: How to connect a DDS in a rp7410?
I have one DDS, hp-storage Works tape array 5300, and actually is not connected.
Could I connect it to one rp, I had seen taht the slot 1 of chassis 0 and slot 8 of chassis 1 its for Ultra 160-SCSI (well, it satys its).
Could I connect it online?
Here you are the ioscan.
Thanks a lot of.
Carmen.

SolutionYes of course you can connect it to the TA5300, after that you must change your kernel configuration to include the driver 'stape', after that reboot your server and then the tape should be seen from ioscan

Re: How to connect a DDS in a rp7410?
Yes, you can connect Two SCSI cable from Two DDS Tape to two SCSI port of the server then run ioscan. If ioscan not found HW then check your kernel configuration.

And check the stape driver.
THanks,
