Re: How to force a crash dump
Go to the console and press CTRL-B
Assuming no user accounts have been set up in the GSP just hit return twice to skip the login.
AT the GSP prompt enter TC
I seem to remember it will check you are sure you want to proceed.
Some older systems (e.g. D class) also have a 'Transfer of Control' button on the back - can't remember ever seeing one on an L or N class though.
I am an HPE Employee

Re: How to force a crash dump
Heaven forfend that you do this and find that your system will not pass muster with fschk. This could lead to a reload and if your backup tapes are missing a days worth of data.............well, is your resume up to date?

Re: How to force a crash dump
It IS under GSP on the L-class and the difference between RS and TC is as follows:
RS wipes RAM clean before rebooting
TC preserves RAM for saving to tape
use the wrong one and wave bye-bye to the contents of your memory.
