How to increase login user number?

Hi everyone

When I login the HPUX 11.0 (rp5470),
I following as message like this

"This Serve can loing only 2 users"

Is there user license to increase login users numbers ?
I don't know about this problem.
I usally use Tru64 UNIX.
In tru64 UNIX, there is a user license.

Please answer me?

Yes there is licence concept in HP too.
When you run "uname -a" you will see how many license is asscociated with the OS.
You have to install either 32/64 or unlimited licence, which is in application CD.

The message doesn't reflect the number of users but the type of terminals from where users can login simultaneously.

Hi,

U can get unlimited user license from HP.
I think ur system has 2 licenses. It doesn't mean u cannot login more than.This restriction applies only for serial terminals.
U can have as many telnet terminals according to your system configuration.
So if you are using a console and one other serial terminal you may not be able to connect via LAN also because normally if you have 2 licenses one will be deticated for lan and other one for console..

You currently have the two user license type installed. The unlimited licence is on the application CD and is free.

The reason you get this problem with a two user licence:

1 user types = any and all telnet users
2 users types = a terminal user directly connected via mux board.
3 users types = modem

You have to install unlimited licence in Application CD#1.
It is free.

You can confirm as executing the command below.
#uname -a
