I am new to Integrity VM, We have configured integrity VM host with HPVM and VMMGR, now i want to manage the VMs through HPSMH and HPSIM, for that i have read the doc "HP integrity virtual machine manager v 4.0".
In that i have found that we can manage the host by using HPSMH and HPSIM.
Now i have some queries:
1)How to find that is HPSMH and HPSIM has been installed?
2)Is any one HPSMH or HPSIM enough to manage the VMs?
3)How to connect the HPSMH or HPSIM from windows workstation?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Solutionhttp://docs.hp.com/en/vse.html#HP%20Integrity%20Virtual%20Machines%20Manager
You can always manage them via command line.
1) HPSMH should be always there (default)
3) always via browser (port 2301 for hpsmh - SIM port depends on version)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

<
(port 2301 for hpsmh - SIM port depends on version)-> meaning you can check
under --> /etc/services
SIM =HP Systems Insight Manager
And who to check if SIM is being installed or not?
you can do swlist --> command to check
Check below
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/index.html

Re: How to manage the virtual machines using VM manager with HP SMH and HP SIM
I used following command to check if insight has been installed or not
# grep -i insight /etc/services
# swlist | grep -i insight
# swlist -l bundle | grep -i insight
# swlist -l product | grep -i insight
I am not getting any output for any one above commands.
So that i can come to conclusion that "SIM =HP Systems Insight Manager" is not installed.

You are correct, SIM is not installed.
Never fear, you can get around it with.....
The commandline.
