how to mount file system on server

hi all,
I have one server filesystem is /backup.
I want to mount file system on anather server without help on nfs .
pls reply

Sachit,

If you are talking about remote filesystem access, then i think you will have to go one way or another with nfs.

Hi Sachit,

If both machines are unix, you have to go with NFS. If not, try with SAMBA.

Hello,

You need to add /backup to /etc/exports (along with any options you want). Then do 'exportfs -a'. On the client, make a directory for the remote filesystem, say '/bkup', then 'mount :/backup /bkup'.
