How to remove a patch from the golden image tar ball ?
I have to remove a recalled patch from the golden image tar ball ?
Is there a way to do that other than baselining the node, swremoving a patch and capturing the image again ?

Re: How to remove a patch from the golden image tar ball ?
There is no way that I know of to remove it from the tarball but there is a way to remove the patch automatically after the install on a new box.
You can add scripts to the INDEX file and have them selectable via the UI when it runs. One of those scripts can be a "swremove" command to remove the offending patch. Then you can select that script to run Post Config and after the last reboot after install the script will run and remove the patch. If it is a kernel patch then the only inconvience will be another reboot after install.
Of course the best way would be to load the image, remove the patch and recreate the image.
Good luck

If it has wheels or a skirt, you can't afford it.
