Usually audio is started by /sbin/rc2.d/S770audio --> /sbin/init.d/audio
. Unless someone has change the S to an s, it should start automatically for you. Also make sure that /etc/rc.config.d/audio is set to 1. As far as your device file, you can make one, quite easy through sam, or through command line. I would contact the manufacturer of the audio equipment to get their recommendations.

Enjoy, Craig

Re: How to start Audio Server on a B2600

Ali,

You should have Audio Hardware in the system as well the device driver in kernel.

You can use SAM to install audio driver.

Sam -> kernel configuration -> Drivers

and select audio and include it.

Once you reboot the system, the device driver will be effective. You can either start Aserver while booting through /etc/rc.config.d/audio by setting it 1 or you can start manually by running /opt/audio/bin/Aserver.

You can use /opt/audio/bin/send_sound to play files through command line.
