What kink of emc box are you connection? Symmetrix? Clariion?
How do you connect unix machine to box? Via fc direct or switched? Or do you use direct SCSI attach?

--------
1) Get the EMC box configured from the EMC Engineer . It needs a bin file (configuration file ) to be uploaded in the box . Give the EMC engineer the system to be connected to this box as well the storage size to be allocated.
2) Do proper zoning and masking.
3) In HP-UX system u need to execute following commands :
# ioscan -fnC disk
# insf -e

Re: how to use emc storage with the hp-ux
For example if you have a clariion...
1)Create a raid group
2)bind a lun
3)create a storage group
4) put your hpux server and your lun into storage group
5) ioscan && insf -e
Check before if you have installed navisphere agent and/or powerpath on hpux machine
